september 2017 update approvals and declines we want to support you to submit the best grant application you can, so you have the greatest chance to have your learning and development supported by macmillan. we currently decline 26% of applications, and we need your help in reducing the number of declines. the main reasons we decline applications are: the learning is considered a core or mandatory requirement of your role, and therefore the responsibility of your employer, or is not something macmillan currently supports. some examples of courses we are likely to decline are:
